INTRODUCING DR. VANESSSA MARINHO
Dr. Vanessa C. Marinho is a highly respected periodontist with over three decades of clinical, academic, and research experience. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Paulista University in Brazil in 1991, where she began her lifelong commitment to excellence in dentistry and patient care.
Pursuing advanced training, Dr. Marinho completed the Preceptorship Program in Periodontology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry. There, she engaged in clinical practice and research, contributing to several scholarly publications in the field.
In 1997, she earned a Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Southern California (USC). Her academic work focused on dental implantology and bone regeneration, areas in which she continues to stay actively engaged.
Dr. Marinho has a strong passion for teaching and mentorship. She served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at both UCLA and USC undergraduate dental clinics and was honored as a Distinguished Part-Time Faculty Member at the USC School of Dentistry for her outstanding contributions to student education.
Her academic contributions also include co-authoring a chapter in the 8th edition of Carranza’s Clinical Periodontology, one of the most widely respected textbooks in the field.
For 18 years, Dr. Marinho owned and led Bellair Periodontics in Arizona, where she provided exceptional periodontal and implant care. During that time, she also facilitated professional growth among her peers by leading a national Spear Study Club in Phoenix.
Now based in California, Dr. Marinho is excited to bring her extensive experience and commitment to excellence back to the local community. She continuously pursues advanced continuing education to ensure her patients receive the most up-to-date and effective treatments available.
Dr. Marinho is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Her clinical precision, dedication to lifelong learning, and patient-centered approach make Dr. Marinho a trusted leader in periodontal and implant care.
